Right now I have some bio media in my refugium, but I know a lot of people like to smash up some dry/live rock and put them in the refugium as well for the copepods. Does anyone have any advice on this? Is it worth having some rubble in there for the copepods, or should I just leave it how it is?

Appreciate any insight!

Assuming you are going to have chaeto or other macro algae in the refugium I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you do add rock just make sure to keep an eye on detritus build up. Happy reefing!

My ultimate goal is to be able to get a Mandarin, Just didn't know if Copepod population is greatly increased with hiding places like rubble or Biomedia. Right now I just have a bag of Bio Balls in it.
