Is it near a window? It's an algae that photosynthesize so it will need light. Let me show you my HOB, light is small and it's all contained in a 10 by 6 box on the back. I also have a light in my sump that I use to grow more and house copepods. What is your system? Do you have a sump? Do you have room for a HOB? 20190527_143610.jpg 20190527_143818.jpg 20190527_143610.jpg 20190527_143818.jpg

I did a fuge in a obj nano cube that is very similar to what you have. The back was cover in a black sticker that I cut away and peeled off with a razor blade. Then I used an old tank light to light up the fuge and with a little modification it worked great. There are much better options for lighting now.

There are a variety of submersible LED strip lights that are popular in the freshwater community for uplighting & adding light to shaded areas. They are reasonably priced & I'm sure you could find one in the right size & spectrum that could drop in to your fuge area to grow the Chaeto. HT
