Ok this thread is dead .. Need to bring it alive
Come on guys :- I know some of you have the most amazing smoothies that would make tenuis look like child's play

Here's a couple of mine .. I have seen that somehow my smooth skins do wayyyy better under lower kelvin halides than any other acroporas

ORA Hawkins :- I cant have a tank without it

Hawkins_Echinata.jpg

Wild Suharsonai or Lokani :- Can't believe how yellow it is under halides

Abhishek

I love all of them... even the green ones.

One that is under-kept and under-appreciated, IMO, in the Tryee Longhorn. It is similar to the 20K and 30K Lokani, but deeper color and not quite as demanding.

@jda - All the recent tenuis craze has made 20K, 30K lokanis and even Tyree Longhorn extinct from the hobby . Where do I find these ?

Abhishek

Look for the good hobbyists who still use T5 and MH. Deep waters are much harder under LED... not impossible, but not easy. Peng, Big Ed would be a good place to start for deep waters that are ready to cut... maybe even Battlecorals. I have some of these, but the are still pretty small. I got my Tyree Longhorn from Peng.

I have a Hawkins coming. I have a corolinia that appears to be bleaching under t5 fairly high. I need to move it down.

Another deepwater lover here.

Do you have or can you rent a PAR meter ? Most of the deepwater ones neednot be in PAR over 200-250.
Now all smooth skins are not deepwater - example Pink Panther and Purple mOnster which need very high light to keep their colors and alive.

Abhishek

I filled the tank half way to cycle the rocks and such.

Been about 2.5 weeks. Got diatoms now, adding a couple of fish. Probably get the sump going in a few weeks.
