Hey all, I have a question about the footprint of these skimmers, which both list as needing 7.5" in one direction.

My Waterbox 70.2 sump has exactly 7.5" of width, but with the opening coming in from the filter-sock section I wonder whether that means there's enough room with these skimmers if I point the pump inlet towards the left (the opening on the left is 2.5" high)

I've attached an annotated photo of the 150sss and my sump space to highlight what I'm wondering. Most likely the 150SSS will be better for me (I don't really have 11.4" deep), so if anyone can answer that one I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks!

Am I to conclude that people who've bought these skimmers can no longer afford tape measures? :p

If I don't hear from anybody I may just have to go for the Bubble King Mini 160 -- at least I'll know that fits

Thanks to anyone who responds

Or maybe someone has the Elite 150SSS? Given the opening on the left I think I could get it to fit within my sump. Someone here has to know something! ;)

I am happy with ro 150 elite with ext pump. Dc varios rocks.
Can you return it if it doesn't fit, or ask reef octo customer service?
Their cs is pretty good.

Bumping because I never got an answer to this question. If the Elite 150SSS can fit in my setup as described up top then I will likely go for it on Black Friday. Otherwise I'm looking at the Bubble King Mini 160.

Thanks to BRS Black Friday, I bought the Elite 150-S instead of the Bubble King Mini 160 (hard to justify an extra $400 at this point), so I will share with you that I was indeed able to fit the 7.7” wide skimmer into my 7.5” sump.

Hope this helps
