Regal 250/300 INT troubleshooting

Good morning!

Ive found an either regal 250int or 300int that a friend is going to grab for me. Its listed as a non-runner with a pump issue. For those that have had problems with these before, what are some common failure modes to look out for?

Sometimes the pumps just die. That would probably be the most common failure point on any skimmer besides breaking the cup when you drop it during maintenance time

The pump itself for either model is a Reef Octopus VarioS-6S with pinwheel impeller. With any DC pump you can check the controller and power supply independent of the pump itself - though this would require having another VarioS-6S setup. If it doesn't fire up after a good cleaning, I'd plan on purchasing a replacement but checking to see what is salvageable.
The power supply is 36V which is a bit of an oddball voltage compared to more common 12V and 24V adapters used on other pumps, FYI.
