Regal Angelfish quarantine procedure

I would like to purchase a Regal Angelfish and I am a little confused about what is the best quarantine process for this fish. Would you please share some advice on how to set up a quarantine for this fish?

I always prefer to let the fish settle in a QT for about a week before starting treatment. With regals your biggest challenge will be to get it to eat. If It’s refusing prepared food, it’s gonna be an uphill battle. Ideally you’d want to get one that’s already eating prepared foods.

Make sure to give it enough hiding places in your QT (pvc pipes etc). They’re very shy fish at first.

Make sure it is eating before your purchase and if buying online your odds of survival will increase if you get a small one. Like EmdeReef said, get it eating before starting treatment.

I have had quite a few regal angels in the past and I currently have two juveniles in my tank. To me I think the safest approach is get the regals in the display first without QT. The tank should be established with some algae and pods. Also a healthy specimen is the most important thing.
Be prepared to feed clams and oyster in the first few weeks.

Everyone has their own methods of QT. I try to fresh water dip first, then into a QT. Next observe and get it eating. After it has settled down and eating well I'll do two rounds of General Cure or Prozi Pro. Then another two weeks of observation in the QT before going into any display tank with other fish. I'm just not a gambler.

So you do not use copper? Just the FW dip and General Cure.
