Where did I say or even suggest that? Lots of people have reported rusting MP40 magnets. I guess you missed them.
MY MP40 magnet hasn't rusted either but then it's 8 to 10 years old when there were no complaints of risting magnets.

Really, well in my experience abd that ifmany on here reading the replies neither I nor them are fiddling round with our cheap pumps. Tell me then, why do ecotech only give a 1 year warranty on their very expensive superior quality over the cheap Chinese pumps?

Because there are still people like you who believe the hype and yet only get a 1 year warranty with Ecotech equipment same as the cheap Chinese pumps. That's how confident Ecotech are in their pump. At 3 times less than their MP40 Jebao don't have to give more than a years warranty.

I have an MP40 8 to 10 years old when there were no complaints about rusting magnets. When is eventually fails do you honestly think I would buy one if their bew ones? I can afford to but its not justifiable.
Wow it really would sound like you would by a new one. Having a product with a very long usable life with no issues sounds like a reason to become a loyal customer.

I’m honestly not following your complaint here:
I have a product I bought used with no warranty and it’s serving me really well still and currently. But I’d never buy that product again to replace this one. If I find something that works and lasts I keep going back until I’m proven otherwise.
Help me understand why you would not still buy an MP pump when you’ve had a great experience? I don’t really think much has changed over time with these pumps except marginal progress over the years with technology improvements, and noise/vibration reduction. I do know they make running improvements on their product. I remember when they had a metal shaft on the wet sides. That was an issue but they fixed it.

Seems to me your not reading my posts or ignoring them as to why I wouldn't by a new MP40 again. Have a nice day.

I’m unaware of ecotech magnets rusting en masse. Do you have data? I’ve seen one maybe two posts on here in my year and a half staying fairly active. I didn’t know this was an ecotech hate thread.

I have had similar experiences as you, currently having a 10 years or more old MP 10 working away night and day in my tank. Just purchased some new pumps (2xMP40 and a Vectra S) last year so time will tell.

Did you personally have a pump go bad and are upset? People choose to buy what they want. Good we have choices I suppose.
There are more forums than just this one. There are enough complaints of failing MP40s not just rust but wet sides giving up as well. I read them on here and other forums.
As for data, try asking Ecotech as see what they say apart from telling you just a couple. Most companies lie when they know there is an issue with a product and will deny there is.
That happens in all industries, just look at the car industry for example where common faults are never a fault until it really blows up on them and they barely forced to do something about it.

They were far from perfect but they were WAY better back in the day.

I won’t use them any longer since I was having wetsides replaced at least once a year for issues. Ecotech was great with warranty replacements but it got old.

I understand why people use Jebao. I use Hygger return pumps on both my tanks. When I broke the propeller on one a week ago, I had a new pump the following morning. But I don’t pretend Hygger didn’t just ripoff somebody else

The Chinese knock offs are just that: knock offs. They rely on others to do all the work and then just copy them. Doesn’t even matter who or where they’re made these days. For example, Jebao (used to be Jebo) started by stealing Tunze’s design. Tunze wasn’t even making the pumps in China and Tunze has/had a patent for their design. China didn’t care and stole the design anyway.

Reefworks dumped all their Radeons after having so many fail and Ecotech telling him to get bent.

I think he was running upwards of 16 or so.
