How can I safely remove sand from my tank while it's cycling??

Siphon it all out or shop vac it. I'd wait until you do your first big water change

WELCOME!!!! Just siphon it out. If it has been a very short time since beginning the cycle it should not delay your cycle time by much but could stunt it to some degree or another again, depending on the stage of the cycle you are at.

Welcome! If there is nothing in the tank and its still cycling should be able to take it out no issue. I would verify the cycle after.

Welcome. If during fish-less cycling, you can just remove it whichever way you want. Siphon it out, scoop it out, etc.

People routinely go bare bottom

We can do that at any time since live rock surface area is enough

can be removed at any stage. We even have threads removing entire sandbed all at once... during home moves etc or deep cleans
