Is this the fix for outlets not shutting off.
This is something I could totally do myself.
Also I see the you used the 800v version. Will this hold up better.
Do you happen to know what the warranty period is on a eb8?

1 year and no it won't shut off as it is probably a low voltage item like a doser. Those need to be on plug ports 4 or 8. If you have an eb4 all ports are switched.

I have a air pump that runs my ozotech so it's orp controlled off and on multiple times a day.

Your saying it might not d aw enough so should move it to 4 or 8.

If the Triac is blown open (Triacs almost always fail this way) as in my case yes the symptom was the outlet would not shut off, the circuit was always active. Check the outlets with an ohm meter and see if they are open or short.

Okay doing that now. It's a new pump maybe it's more energy efficient than the last seems like the last one shut off just fine. Even tried moving the plug the other day but not to 4 or 8. So doing right right now and will let you know.

Moved to number 8 and all is good. I tested it on and off and works perfectly. Really surprised I had not thought to try that. Nice to know that my eb8 is not malfunctioning.

Thank you so much for the quick help I really do appreciate it. Now my new air pump won run all the time.

Oh anyone know about jebao wp pump controllers. One of my pumps stopped working and the other is fine. May have got some moisture in the controller. It lights up and changes settings but pump does nothing. Yes I cleaned it too. No spin action.

Nope wait I fixed it. The ceramic shaft guides or bearings were frozen up. A litte cleaning and good to go.

Thanks for the tutorial and parts ordering info!
I burned up a triac on an EB8 and had an outlet stick "On" after saltwater dripped on the tail end of an extension cord that was plugged into it and shorted it out. I disassembled my EB8 over the weekend and just ordered some new triacs.

The disassembly (hardest part!) is the same but the replacement of the relay would be just unsoldering the bad one and re-soldering the new one. There should be numbers printed on the side of the relay that you can match up online if no one has the number handy.

I think once the triac is not working, you have 1 of the cases either always on or always off....The outlet is stuck at the last state it was at.

Is this for outlets that won't turn on or won't turn off ? I missed the explanation somewhere.

In my case it wouldn't turn off.
