Hey guys I'm looking for advice on what to use to replace the foam block that came with my eshopps rs100. I bought it used, so when the time came for me to change it out (actually I cut it up to use for biological media in my QT) I ordered the one from eshopps and apparently the one that came with mine wasn't the original, cause the eshopps is much finer and clogged up rather quickly. I am looking for something more porous/coarse that I can clean and reuse without worrying about my ATO lowering my salinity due to blockage to the return area. I can cut something, but haven't found anything thick enough (2") and wanted to see if anyone here has had this same issue.

Thanks
Rich

Biocube nano tanks have coarse sponges that are about 3x4” each (that’s what my 12g had). You could easily cut them to size. I’m sure you could find them on Amazon.

The Eshopp sponge that came with mine is not the same one I just ordered from Eshopp, like you said it's much finner. I think they changed it based availability.

Yeah my original NEVER clogged up or slowed flow. This new one lasted only days.

I think it was this but I wound up using what was suggested above which is more plastic than foam and stops air bubbles without getting clogged

Also, I was shown a tip if using the fine sponge and worried about it clogging you can cut out a corner or two all the way down so water will still flow

Thank you, my LFS actually had plenty of different sizes that were just "precut" pieces. Looks good, just barely filling up tank tonight!
