Hi ,first post here .I'm just wondering if anyone knows if it would be safe to switch a tempered glass panel with a non tempered one. It would be the back glass and would be to drill a over flow ..the tanks like a 30lx18wx20 or so height ,55 gallon. I do plan on using the braces again. Just wondering if the switch would hurt integrity of the tank.

It should not be a problem. Be sure to use thicker glass than what the tempered glass was. Thicker is easier to drill.
I assume you have watched youtube videos or have some idea of what you are doing

Oh and Howdy welcome

Yes you can do that. Tempered was probably used for durability during shipping. It can take a stronger hit in the middle but tap any of the edges and it blows out very easy.

Just grow it: Have you ever added CO2 to your reef tank?
