Sorry, no, not necessarily. Plenty of Tiliqua sp are still smuggled out of Australia, not even counting the infamous rugosa (which we don't typically lump in with 'BTS'). A simple Google search will show reports of the confiscations.

New subspecies and locales keep the hobby market going, especially but not only in the case of species that don't throw out morphs left and right (ball pythons, corn snakes). That's something casual keepers typically don't understand. That's why getting an education on the role of the hobby in smuggling is important, and getting the details straight, so we can make educated choices about which animals to keep.

I kept a veiled chameleon for many years and recently a bearded dragon. I don’t keep reptiles any more and just sold my setup and all gear except for one thing…which I will now shamelessly plug here!

If anyone keeps reptiles and is in need of a solarmeter 6.5r I have one for sale. Is a $250-350 (depending where you shop, sales, etc) uv meter for measuring the uv index in basking spots to ensure your lights are delivering the proper uv level based on your pet. It’s like a par meter, for reptiles.

$100 shipped to anyone on the forum. Perfect working condition. But the battery cover is missing. I just throw a piece of tape over the battery. Easy fix

Also useful to know when to change your lamps! If you know your reading you can check monthly and see when it degrades to the point where the lamps aren’t emitting enough uv for your pet, then it’s time for a new bulb :)

I have two rareish dwarf burmese pythons im going to breeding or trying to in a few months.
The female is normal color but het albino and the male looks like this .
He is a green albino or "patternless"

I will have albino 50% dwarfs which wont get biger than 8-9 feet. About the tamest snake i've ever had pretty much a noddle dog. I would say more tame than a ball python as sometimes i get busy and the last time i held him was 8+ months ago and zero aggression.

What i find weird is my yellow coris turns orange with the blue reef lights on and he is orange and turns yellow near the same lights. He looks yellow but again is oranage.

I've had a few large lizards over the years, but I had a good sized water monitor many years ago, those are my favorite! They are now illegal to keep in my home state of New York, but what cool lizards!
