Long story short: I need to add a piece(4lb 25" x 10" x 4" size) of Life Rock I pulled out of my tank a month or so back. I placed the rock inside a container (it stayed damp but not wet) and it's been in that sealed container for a month.

Here's what I am currently doing:

It's now in a 4 gallon container of salt water.

Powerhead is creating flow.

I added a small bio block and a small piece of live rock from the DT in this container.

I added a few drops of gunk from my protien skimmer.

Added some Dr. Tim's bacteria.

Any guesses on how long before I should test and how long before you would feel comfortable adding to the tank?

I'm trying to do this as fast as possible to create peace between a Bi-Color and Midas Blenny. I had to drill a hole for in this rock for the Midas. The other hole I drilled is occupied by the Bi-Color and the Midas now wants the hole. Lol

120 gallon 4+ months old with about 80lbs+ of live rock, Reef rock and Life rock mix with a 1" sand bed and fuge of cheato.

I think you could add it to the Dt after making sure there’s no ammonia spike from dye off. Even then adding a 4lb rock in 120 gallon probably won’t be enough to upset the system.
What are you going to do if they both still want the same hole and neither wants this new rock :)

Haha. Man, I don't know. I spoil my Blennies. That why Benny (the Bi-Color) is such a jerk. I put nori at his hole when I first got him. It worked and he eats it off the glass clip now. Then I had to drill out his hole last week because he got too fat to fit. So he was pee'd off. When he is pee'd off he bites everything!! Rocks, Corals, fish. He doesn't care. He just bites. Lol.

The Midas (Butters) went in his hole and Benny bit his face a few times to get him out. Lol.

I wish I could have a tank full of these jerks. It's so entertaining.
