Hello,
I have a question concerning salt water storage. I usually do a 5-10 gallon water change every Sunday, then make the water for next weeks change the same day. By the weeks end, there is a white residue on the inside of my mixing buckets and pumps. Is this harmful to my tank?
I’m using 5 G hardware store black buckets and Reef Crystals salt. TDS meter from RODI unit is reading zero after I let it run a bit. Changed filters out in July.
Thank you for your help.

It’s residue from the instant ocean salt. It mixes dirty. Higher end salts mix cleaner. I just rinse them out when I’m done.

Just grow it: Have you ever added CO2 to your reef tank?
