Hey all, going to start documenting the restart of my SCA 100g tank. My goal is to create a thriving bare bottom sps only tank. Started the cycle on 12/5 added Dr Tims Ammonia raised to .5 ppm and seeded the tank with "one and Only" and "Waste Away"

TANK 100G SCA AQUARIUM
Display dims 48x24x20
Sump 40 breeder with Fiji cube baffles
Chamber 1 fuge
Chamber 2 skimmer and equipment
Chamber 3 filter pads and Return

Equipment.:
Controller.:
-2016 Apex / ghl KhD
Lighting.:
-2 to 3 Orphek compacts
-Amazon fuge light
Flow.:
-Jabao 6000 return
-3 to 4 coral box QP 9
Dosing.:
-Diy kalk reactor (aquamax dosing container / GHL magnetic stirrer)
-2 part dosing once the kalk reactor hits its limits.
-Auto WC system
- Auto Aqua ATO
Filtration
-Skimmer (Not sure, I have a Coral box D700 on stand by. Looking for something smaller)
Marine pure bio balls and will add a block later.

WISH ME LUCK ON THIS NEW JOURNEY!!!

Nice start.
Look at the Tunze 9410 dc.
I run one on my 120 and 45 frag system.
Set and forget.
Also look at the OR3 light bars.
Friends are going from radions to these with outstanding results without breaking the bank, lol.
Thanks for the suggestion!! I will definitely check out the Tunze Skimmer. I have been Eyeing the OR3 Bars for a while and will probably add the or the Ally Express bars down the line. I already have 2 Orphek V4 compacts from the last time i setup this tank and i am looking to add a 3rd if the par is not adequate .

Nice setup so far!! I really like the clean plumbing.

If you have the "2 Orphek V4 compacts" stick with them. They are awesome!!!

I went with the Kessil AP9X over my new 75g reef build.

Also, if you are looking for a new skimmer, I highly recommend the Nyos skimmers. I love my Nyos 120. Very quiet.

I actually picked you an full size orpheck v4. I have not had a chance to check the par output. May end up needing to get some bars at some point.

I am going to keep the coral box skimmer. Its been running well so far.
