As some of you know we had a total loss of our house from a fire this past OCT, the cause was a faulty power strip with timer from Coralife.

Link to the thread. https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/lost-it-all-an-electrical-warning.218503/

Anyways today is a good day, my new Redsea 525XL arrived.

So I have decided to put it in the dinning area for the kitchen, there is a wall that looks like it was made for this tank. And here is what I have so far.

I think I want to mod the back of the equipment side of the stand, with the gaping whole there it takes away from area I could mount the electronics.

A question, I have a large mixture of rock, about half is real reef rock and the rest is marco rock. I have a good amount more that would be needed to cover my return area of the tank. What are peoples thought of attaching the prime one sided flat cuts to that area. I was thinking it would look good and also allow me to attack corals to it using rubble to make little shelves. Thought?

It has been a wild and fast half year since the fire that is for sure, but we love it here in Danville, NH, no noise and no light at night. found the house we wanted and also what i deemed important for my hobby, a 14oo SF open basement and a 20k on demand hold house genny lol. I am thinking that Reefer 525xl will fill my need as a reef tank for a few years. Really taking my time in the build. I decided to use the prime cut MARCO rocks on the overflow even if it will look odd with my caribsea rock i decided to use for my scape. I went it over the real reef stuff, since it wasn't so dark purple, to me the caribsea looked a little more real. Right now I am working on my electronic cabinet.

did some work on the electronics cabinet last night, I wanted a easy to remove panel with everything attached. Once I get everything in place I will make it tidy, still waiting on my light mounts from Germany and my 320 skimmer to come in.
