Plumbing my new tank and don’t want to cut teeth out of weir. Is there any issue with having the return line come up out of the overflow, and have the loc line curve down to where the output is under the water line?

Internal overflow? Why not drill a hole below the weir teeth and plumb it through there? T or 90 your PVC and run thread behind the hole that butts up to the overflow and loc-line threads into from the outside.

No having the return go over the weir isn’t an issue. If your return is going to be under the water level just make sure that you won’t over flow your sump from a siphon when the return pump is off.
