Hi All,

I’m after some advise on return pump outlet and powerhead placement, I’ve currently got the return pump outlet just below the surface pointing diagonally to the opposite corner (back right to front left) and then a powerhead half way down pointing up running along the back of the tank. Does this look ok? I was thinking the powerhead might be best place on the opposite side of the return outlet but then the tank doesn’t look as good. Also would this be too much flow for the little clownfish?

Thanks

I’m not an expert but I do know that as you place coral in the tank, be prepared to move and adjust and add to your power heads. Don’t let your equipment drive your livestock placement. Let your livestock determine where the best place for flow belongs. But for starters, your scheme is as good as any. The tank looks like it’s off to a good start. Best of luck!

Thank you, yeah I did think everything would probably change again later down the line when corals are added

Clownfish are fine with flow. Personally I would place the powerhead on the opposite side of the return, aimed at each other so the flows bounce and create random flow pattern
