Return pump for waterbox marine x 60.2

This will be my first track with a sump ever, and I want a good return pump that I can control the flow without having to physically turn the pump off and pull it out and adjust a dial or nozzle. Does anyone have any recommendations? I was thinking about one of the red sea pumps but it doesn't look like it will fit the pump chamber prebuilt in the sump. Any help is appreciated.

That wont fit. The pump chamber is 5.5" x 8.3" an 15" height. I am currently looking at the vetra s2 and the Nautilus DC1600 or the sicce syncra sdc 6 or 7 but wanted to see what everyone else is running

I am really happy with the pump I settled on. It does what you want, I think.

The pump I went for just fits in the chamber and is quiet. I run it at 60%, but ramp it up when required. I didn't need to buy any separate bits to connect it with what Waterbox supplied.

I definitely overlooked a few things but am thinking i am ultimately going with the vectra s2 which ad the head height of the tank should have me right around 840gph that i can turn down to around 300 to use less energy but still get the 4-5 times turnover per hour. I also am leaning towards an apex controller since im going with the ecotech mp wave makers as well. I ended up just getting the waterbox protien skimmer they recommended with my order but outside of that i need to get everything else.

I originally wanted to run all redsea equipment through the reef beat app but their return pumps wont fit in the pump chamber of the waterbox sump and i have to get a waterbox tank because of the gift cards. Regardless, im so grateful for winning that drawing so i can finally give my one tank the upgrades its been needing.

I wouldnt overpay for just a pump that pushes water. I would get the Jebao DCP like in the link above but the 3500 model. Its 900gph and fits your dimensions for 60bucks. Why overpay just because it says ecotech and does the same thing just pushes water to the tank and nothing else. i cant see the need for the mobius app as once you set the pump you are not going to be changing the setting again.

I would suggest you make sure that if you buy a higher rated pump, you can turn it down to what you want it to run. I am very happy with my pump, but I did not know it should only be run at a minimum of 60%. It was only when I read the info that is supplied inside the box that I learnt that! Also, beware that your total water volume (display and sump) may only be 150 litres.

I can give you my dimensions, but you should check up on what you are getting. I would suggest buying the pump after you have received the tank. You don’t need to run the sump when cycling the display tank anyway.

I printed out the sump dimensions from the listing on their site (and hope that it would be the same or close to as described) but don't i want my sump to cycle with the tank, especially if I add some kind of rubble rock to it (i was planning on using some of my aqua scape from the current tank to add into the sump to help the cycling process and stability from the current tank to the new build). From what I've seen is a good idea. I've had this aio peninsula tank up for about a year now so it's not super mature but since I won the gift cards I wanted to give them a bigger home

You don’t have to use your sump at the start of the cycle. You can keep the excess rock/rubble in your display tank and let it cycle there and later add it to the sump when you connect the sump.

If you cycle the display tank without the sump, added the sump is simply just adding water capacity.

So, it is like cycling your display tank half full and then adding additional water to fill it up.

Yeah, ive noticed a few different designs since looking i to their tanks a few years ago. In the worst possible scenario i would just have to get something overnighted but since i already have a current tank they are all doing fine it, the smartest thing would be to wait until everything is set up and go from there. The only thing i do have my mind set on is the power head cords running on the outside because it will allow the mesh lid to sit flush without any cut outs which is important since we have 3 large cats. I also think i was getting myself to invested beforehand as well and need to take a step back and wait until the tank actually arrives before starting to look because i could end up shorting myself or over purchasing (which in my opinion never hurts to have extra stuff on hand, it has saved me many times thus far) but i do appreciate everyones input and being someone who works 2 fulltime jobs this has been very helpful to open my eyes to see other options out there that i would not have found on my own most likely. I am looking forward to showcasing my build once it comes and hopefully will be able to show my wife some more joy with the salt water aquarium (she has 3 fresh water tanks that i maintenace but she built) because i would love to have a big 150+g eventually of a fresh and salt water and then a quarentine tank gor each and hospital tank for each.
