Starting up new live rock with fish and some soft- looking for recommendations on return pump redsea reefer 250 Gen 1

largest dc pump that can fit easily in the return chamber, turned down until flow is good. reason being it will be a lot less noisy. i have had very good experiences using random amazon dc return pumps just depends on price and size. jebao and orlushy are 2 i have currently and work great

These tanks use metric plumbing, 25mm (~1in) outside diameter…

They are smaller than 3/4in PVC pipes inside diameter (imperial rigid plumbing is measured by inside diameter)…

There is also a substantial return plumbing restriction inside the overflow box, in the form of a proprietary elbow fitting…

You will struggle to move 750gph (observed) through the return, and that is way too much for this tank anyways…

— TLDR: a pump rated for 500-600GPH (before head loss) will be plenty for this system!

Thnx they recommend sicce syncra 3.5 but i think ill go with orlushy dc5000

i love sicce but ac pumps just arent worth it anymore. esp if noise level and power usage is a factor in your decisions

just double check dimensions to make sure it fits
