Returning addict!

Hey gang, returning to the hobby after several years absence. Last salt tank was 55G that was thriving despite many people telling me I was doing things all wrong :tongue:. Went on a 3 day weekend, left an ex friend in charge of the tank and came home to water temps well over 90 degrees and everything dead. Heartbroken and took a long time to get back into it. over 3K invested in that tank, too much to lose in one fell swoop.

Current Salt tank is an Oceanic Biocube 14 with 2 Onyx clowns (paired), small colony GSP, large colony of palys, shrooms, Blue Xenia (love the Xenias) and a dual head Frogspawn. Trying to convince the clowns that the Frogspawn is a great host, but they are thickheaded about it. This tank is fairly new, so not much in it at this point, but will be adding more every so often.

Also have a 55G FW tank that is several years old and contains 2 Dragon Gobies, Plecostamus, Siamese algae eaters, Tiger Barbs, Albino Red Fin Sharks, Red Tetras (can't remember the name to save my life), and some Ghost Shrimps that have actually spawned. Oh, and snails to, too many to count dang it, but they don't seem to bother anyone. Planted, but sparsely due to the pleco pulling everything up! Pleco loves cucumber btw.

Looking forward to reading lots of good hints and suggestions from everyone. Will get some pics posted soon as I get home and get some decent ones made.

Welcome back. I see you are off to a good start in staying with regular inexpensive corals. 3k was alot to swallow then and if you get caught up in all the coral hyping the cost this time will it set you back even more!! Think of your pockets and all the heartache you can avoid beforehand.:wink:

Welcome nuff. Very hard to stay away. Once you get salt on your hands, it's hard to wash off : )

Thanks for the welcome back. It is hard to remove the salt once it gets under your skin....FW just don't cut it any more lol. Already gotten into hot water with the other half over this tank, but as long as it's hot SALTWATER, I'll deal. LOL As for avoiding the heartache this time around, working on that, but seeing all those beautiful critters out there.....man I want and want and want and....well that's enough of that. Y'all know what I mean. LOL
