Hi everyone.
I've been out of the hobby for about 20 years, but I'm looking forward to getting back in soon. I set up my first saltwater aquarium when I was 16 years old and have always loved them.
Not sure which direction I want to go just yet. I don't think a full on reef tank suits me as I'm more about the fish, and particularly fish that don't do well in reefs. Fish Only With Live Rock seems to be my interest area. I'd like to start with something in the 75 - 100 gallon range. Water quality will be very important for me, so I need to spend a lot of time now re-educating myself on products that are available now and relearning some chemistry and biology. I'm not much of an e-reader...does anyone have a good book that would help me get started?
What products or brands should I research? I would say...I don't really have a budget necessarily, but I don't want to throw tons of money out of the gate, if you follow. Point being: what are good quality products that are reasonable priced for starting out?
I've been looking at Waterbox aquariums. I like that they have packages that basically include everything. What are the opinions from hobbyists on their products?
Thanks in advance for the help.
Side note - if anyone has crossed over from the tortoise forums, you might recognize me. Say hi and talk tortoises anytime!

Welcome to the community Neal! I know a lot of people who like waterbox or innovative marine. I just joined the salter water community back in February, and already upgraded from a 20 gallon hexagon tank from hell to an innovative marine 40l breeder. I'd highly suggest looking into the IM blemished tank section (that's where I got my tank) and you'll find an incredible deal for a price you can't beat. I've yet to really find the blemish on my tank, and others who have also bought from the blemish side have yet to be able to locate exactly where their blemish is. I don't regret the purchase at all.
Right?! I almost went with that 200g complete reef, but I quickly decided to give a 40g a go first to get my feet wet before just jumping in ha-ha.Holy shoot!!!! The prices on those blemished tanks are fantastic!
Thank you for the link.
