A few months ago I had some media turn to mush on me. It was GenX and a good majority of it is still comprised of larger pieces. Would it be okay to rinse the fines out of it and reuse it?

Why wouldn't it?

I have rinsed the media I have in my reactor with no ill effects, I redid the plumbing on my DIY one, and the media was very soft, so I rinsed it out... ;)

Back when I was using small ARM, I would rinse it through a plastic spaghetti strainer. No problem.

Well..........I don't know why. That's why I asked :)

Thanks for passing on your experiences. I will rinse it and fill the reactor up. Thanks :)
