So I recently got an rfa from my lfs because they were having a big sale and I was gonna try one. I am pretty sure I know what the cause is, but I am unsure if it is truly melting as I have never had any livestock which has done this. I think that it is my high phosphates that are causing the issues, as they are around 2 or higher. I can currently running phosphate remover. Please let me know if it is truly melting

In that pic, I can't tell whether it's melting. But it's not a rock flower anemone. That is Heteractis aurora, which needs a sand bed. A closer pic would maybe show better if it's melting.

Ok it is kinda like a goo like substance, but here is another pic. I tried to zoom in more but my phone wouldn’t focus

In that last pic, I agree, it is a RFA. It could be suffering from a tear. RFAs are hardy anemones. I wouldn't say it's melting just yet. Give it good quality water conditions and keep a close eye on it.

Yeah all my nutrients are on level except for phosphates, but I am unsure of what to do about it right now because I ordered a membrane for my RODI system, which was leaching phosphates. I will get here Friday. Hopefully it will survive until then

Keep us posted. I think there is a decent chance your RFA will pull through.

So this morning I woke up and whatever was happening appeared in the mouth and the RFA was having no motor output and was not really colorful, so I decided to toss it because I didn’t want my other anemones, which were perfectly healthy at the time, to get sick in case this was a pathogen

Ah, sorry it went down hill. If it wasn't at all reactive, that is a bad sign. It was most likely a goner. And yeah, you don't want to chance it spreading an infection to other anemones.

Just stressed I think. I was thinking about picking up a few RFAs as well. Any advice on the acclimation or husbandry?
