Where are you guys putting the heater probes for this sump? I only see wire slots in the return chamber and the skimmer chamber. Thanks!

@SaltAndSky
I see this is your first post. Welcome.

When you say heater probes, do you mean the sensor or the heating element?

This is what AI says about your question.

where does heater go?
The heater goes into the dedicated vertical heater compartment located right after the filter cup/sock chamber.

Here is exactly how the water flows through the sump so you can find it:

  1. Drain Chamber: Water enters through the bulkheads into the filter media cups.
  2. Heater Slot: The water immediately spills over into a narrow, vertical slot designed specifically to hold titanium or glass heater elements upright.
  3. Skimmer Chamber: Water then flows into the large open area where your protein skimmer sits.

Yeah, I was asking about the sensor. I have the heaters in the proper chamber, which is right after the overflow. So there is no way that I can see to get the sensors before the heaters

Consider putting sensor in the display. However, if you do this, in a sceanario where flow is interrupted if a pump fails, you should have a second sensor to turn heater off.

Here in Texas, I don’t use heater in any of my reef tanks.
