Rhinecanthus triggerfish in reefs

Hey reefers,

i’ve been inspired from a local reefer’s awesome huma Picasso triggerfish and am looking at a triggerfish in that family (huma, lunula, Assasi, etc.) to add to a 180 gallon reef.

who has experience with these fish in reefs or with cleanup crews? Have you found those fish to chow down on snails? Overall not killers to tank mates?

I assume these guys all love some snails, but looking for good and bad experiences with tank mates.

Motile inverts, such as shrimp, snails, and crabs, as well as clams are going to be eaten. But they do usually leave corals alone.

I have also found them to be fairly well behaved towards other fish, as long as the other fish aren't small enough to be considered a meal.

Thanks! Yea I have a pair of clowns, which when the trigger gets bigger who knows.
