What is everyones opinion on what lights shows the best color of there ricordea? I have pc's on my ricordea and it pops, but I think it could be better. I know rics are ok with medium light, but will halides make them color up brighter or fade them? I have always heard they will acclimate to whatever light they have. Also, do you think they do better with or without a skimmer? Ricordea likes water a little dirty like most softies. Also, are yuma harder to keep than fl. ricordea?

They're in my 28 gallon nano. 250w metal halide in a good reflector, so I don't think I could put much more light on there. I have a very good skimmer on there. This is under a whitish 20k bulb, so under a bluer MH/actinic T5s, they'll glow like crazy.

I had my rics and yumas under pc lights and thought they looked good..... Couldn't have been more wrong. I ordered the nova ectreme 8 bulb T5 vho fixture... When I first flicked it on I was shocked. With the actinic lights on it looks like a day glo tank. Its insane! Ever played glo golf? With all the lights on the rics pop like you wouldn't believe. I run 4 10k and 4 actinics.
I have not had any problem keep yumas or rics with one exception. I have had a problem with SMALL yumas that were not aqua-cultured. I have a nice stem with some red rimmed yumas that was shipped to me after being harvested all but one wilted. This also happened to a sick pink and blue yuma. However the larger yumas I have have slid and left part of their base behind wich has grown new heads and these pieces seem to have had no problem acclimating to tank life. It is very easy to quickly fade your yumas and rics. These are not high light corals. Medium at most in my experience.
Sick pics Dylan!
