Ricordea with White Stem

Any know what this white stem coming from ricordea? Is that a foot?

That's not part of the mushroom, it's some sort of filter feeder. Looks a lot like what it often called a "pineapple sponge" but seems a little bigger. Nothing to worry about anyway.
