Anyone interested in making a long roadtrip as we have been invited to visit this store in Ohio?
A post here to let them know if you are planning to attend may get a group ride going?

Hi,
We are planning to invite a number of regional clubs to take group trips to Phishy Business, and to provide that group with a discount on livestock during their trip. If you don't mind, you can post the invite below to your group members. If you have any questions, please email me at [email protected].
Thanks,
Aaron (Phishy Business Staff)

We at Phishy Business would like to invite MTRC members to our shop for a special group buy!

We are happy to offer a one-time 25% discount on livestock when 10 or more club members pre-register and visit out store. A date for the trip can be coordinated with club officers, and we can open the store an hour early (or stay open an hour late) exclusively for club members.

Phishy Business is one of the premiere marine specialty shops in the Midwest, and stocks a wide variety of fish and invertebrates. We are especially well known for our coral selection. We have everything from $5 frags to unique high end showpieces. Each of our staff members is an experienced and dedicated hobbyist, who is happy to answer any question you may have. Phishy is a saltwater only shop- no dogs, no birds, no hamsters, and no goldfish- so we can focus providing the best marine livestock available.

Our shop is located just outside Columbus, Ohio. Columbus is an easy afternoon drive from nearly half the US population making it a great destination for a club day trip. For those with family members who are less enthusiastic about aquariums, Columbus has many attractions worth a visit in their own right including the world famous Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Easton Town Center, Short North gallery district, COSI, North Market, the Scioto Mile Riverwalk, Franklin Park Conservatory, Columbus Museum of Art, and a huge number of unique restaurants.

To register members and plan your group trip, please contact us at [email protected].

Thank you!

Whew, that's a long way. Google maps says 6+ hr drive one way from Nashville. I'm gonna pass on this and save my $$ for the frag swap.

That is a very cool offer, but the way gas is right now, I would be better off paying shipping online...just saying

Your Right I think the no liquids rule would become a problem, No? Actually I did not think this would be a feasable trip as it's just a little too far and with 5.00 gas looming is not a cheap trip either.

Well, you could just check them under the plane wrapped up in your luggage, but that stuff gets tossed around too.

Wow... that's interesting. Last time the club had any dealings with Phishy Business, they were NOT very nice. Apparently early on there was some bad blood. I'm glad to see they're trying to make amends, though.

Brandon, Was it this Phishy Business or the one that used to be in Bowling Green (Mitch)?

Andy,

Nope, wasn't him. It was this company in Ohio. The guy who owned it was very indignant. I had no clue a club buy had gone bad in the past, but he acted as though I had stole something from him because I was an MTRC member. It was strange.

I believe they are still there Fishey Business - Home
...now that would be a good place to setup a group/club buy for a road trip...the place in OH looks to have some really nice stuff... If you're going to do a plane ride, might as well fly to San Diego to AquaSD and the like...direct flight SW and might be similar in price... Now I'm just talking crazy...
