I added two rock anemones last weekend. One attached within a few minutes, then buried itself in the rock, and it’s now open and looking good.

The other one moved into a cave and doesn’t seem to be attached. In the mornings before the lights come up, it looks like the left picture, with a big gaping mouth. Once the light comes on, it looks like the right picture.

Is the gaping mouth something to worry about? What signs should I look for in case there’s a real problem?

Parameters:
Nitrates 10
Phosphates 0.12
Alk: 9
Salinity: 35 ppt
Tank is 8 months, 23 days

If they both showed no damage, came from the same source at the same time, I’d just give him an at least 2-3 more days, Unless he starts to fall apart, then he’s toast.

Your right, he certainly is unhappy.
