Rock Flower Anemones?

So I have been seeing awesome pics of Rock Flower Anemones and now I want one or two. I have some questions though. First are they good for beginners? I know BTAs are and I will have one of those as well but im loving the RFA. Second, I know clowns wont host them but when they settle in a spot will they be okay with a BTA in the tank along with zoas and sps? Any and all tips are appreciated.

Also should I wait 6 months to add to a new aquarium? My ammonia is at 0 and nitrites are very low now and im starting to see diatoms forming so algae cycle is starting, would it be okay to add one soon or should I wait till end of algae cycle or the 6 months?

They are easy to keep. You can pretty much put them where you want them (next to a rock in the sandbed) and they will stay there. Mine like low flow. They like to be fed, but it isn't necessary. Personally, I would wait until your tank matures some more before getting one. My tank was 2 years old before I could keep an anemone of any type alive, even though all testing showed good.

I agree, rock/flower anemones are among the easiest to keep. More forgiving than BTAs and they don't tend to move, once established. As for how long to wait, there's no hard number there. I would say wait till your tank is stable. Once all the startup cycles are complete, your parameters are stable and you don't see any kind of changes happening other than growth of your reef.
