Hey everyone, @Nano_Man asked me to take over his amazing group.

If you want to join let me know! And no you dont have to know anything about rock pools (I didnt when he first asked me to join but I totally learn when those who know about them post!)

The members post lots of cool and unusual sea creatures and it really is a cool group! We are trying to expand so if you wanna learn something and see some really unusual creatures and unique tanks come join 😊

Question: I thought all rock pools were outdoor setups, can you have indoor rock pools in places where the weather isn't appropriate for an outdoor setup?

Thats a good question! You should join the group and ask 😊 I dont keep a rock pool tank, Im land locked. I get to live vicariously through other’s posts of their tanks 😂😂

Yes you can but a chiller is a important bit of equipment

@Nano_Man thank you for the time you watched over the group! Very much appreciated.

Haha, that's kind of why I asked, because I see your location listed as Denver, and unless there's a Denver Florida I'm unaware of, it must be hard to keep an outdoor rock pool setup in Colorado 🙃

You mention land-locked, do these systems need recirculating natural sea water?

Thanks for your reply, Officer Foxx!

Maybe I don't know what a rock pool system is 🤪 I thought these were outdoor, shallow setups. I didn't know that they were necessarily cool water vs tropical reef, I thought people did these in places like Florida or Hawaii were the climate was suitable. Am I missing something fundamental to rock pool reefing?

Thanks, Nano Man!

I'd like to learn more about them. Is there an R2R subforum to follow?

This?

Is there one for members in the US?

Lol I gotta make my own salt water and the pH here is so bad I always have to add buffer to the newly mixed water to bring it up. 😂 no rock pools for me! But ponds are very popular out here, well more like lake species that go dormant in cold weather when the pond ices over. Lots of people have those!

And its both, we have UK and US members. Its actually kinda cool cause during our day the Us people are active then we go to bed and then all the UK people take it from there and we wake up again and see what they all posted and then they wake up and see what we all posted! Its kind of a cool dynamic
