Rodi line routing?

Hey guys, I just picked up a used rodi unit after not having one for many years (left the hobby for a while and then used distilled when I started reefing again). Unfortunately the used unit I got didn't come with any of the lines hooked up. And it came with a booster pump which I have never used before.

How I have it hooked up it will fill with water but nothing comes out of the clean water line. And the pressure gauge isn't hooked up.

Oh and I'd also like to run an ro only line for drinking water but I'm not sure where to hook in for that.

Attached is my setup as well as a picture the previous owner gave me. Any tips would be appreciated!

So pump goes first with pressure gauge.
Then into sediment filter or filters.
Then into charcoal filter.
Then into the r/o
Out of the r/o you have 2 lines. One good and one waste.
The good line goes into your d/I canister.
Then out as your great water.
The waste line splits into 2 lines
One has a restrictor and it should be sized for the gph of your unit.
The other has the flush valve. It should be closed. Only open to flush the gunk off the outside of the r/o membrane.
Then they go back together as one line and down a drain

Hey I appreciate the info! After doing a bit more research I figured out that the booster is a smart buddy from brs (it is missing the exterior case). And that booster eliminates the need for a resistor and a flush valve. I also found this image but am still struggling to piece it together with the case missing

Source -> Stage 1(Micron Filter) -> Stage 2(Carbon block) -> Stage 3(typically another carbon block) -> RO rear -> RO Port 1 -> DI Stage -> Collector Tank
RO Port 2 -> Flow Restrictor -> Waste Storage or Drain


A Booster Pump i have mine right after another Micron Filter, so i dont get particulates stuck inside my pump as that can be bad. So in my system, i have a micron filter -> booster pump -> Stage 1 ... ect...

So, the booster pump on this system was plumbed immediately after the last carbon stage, between it and the RO membrane!

To get the pressure gauge working, just tee off the output line from the booster pump, into the fitting on the bottom of the pressure gauge! — you want to measure the water pressure between pump outlet and RO membrane; this tells you what pressure your RO membrane is operating at!

— regarding wiring, you’ll have at least a pair of wires to supply the pump with power, and another pair to run through a pressure switch (on the RO product water line), which turns the booster pump on and off automatically…

I seem to recall that these booster pumps auto flush the membranes, so the waste and RO product also go through the original box… presumably so it can count product water volume, then bypass the built in waste line flow restrictor to do a membrane flush…

— This could be worth a call or email to smart buddy to see if they can help you piece it back together, or possibly send you a new enclosure!

It is ideal to place the booster pump AFTER your prefilter housings.

PREFILTERS are any filters that water gets to before reaching the membrane.
