RODI maintenance

Just wondering, is there any service that needs to be done to this component on my RODI unit? I back flush the line coming out of it every so often but is that it? What exactly is it?

Not really sure what exactly you're pointing at. The RO/DI Membrane or the flush valve itself? Or the two little black wires?

For the membrane I flush it for a few minutes before and after a water making session. Eventually you will notice a drop off and it will be time to change it.

Are you talking about the housing? Or the valve? The housing holds the RO membrane which needs periodic replacement. The valve is your flush valve. It should be closed during normal operation and only open when you are using it to flush the membrane by bypassing the flow restrictor.

You only should change it if your rejection has dropped below the acceptable threshold.

I just noticed your flush valve was in the flush position so i hope you were just flushing it during the photo and this is not the normal position you keep it in while making water.

Ya i was flushing it and ingot to thinking if i ahould open it up and see whats in there and change whatever filter is there. Figured id throw a post up on here before tearing into it.

I would recommend learning the ins and outs of a standard RODI system. It makes troubleshooting easier as well as prolonging the service life of your system.
