Looking for a possible solution to my RODI system pressure bleeding off randomly and kicking back on.

I have a BRS 6 stage system that is several years old. Supply line comes from my washing machine cold water. Filtered water is split to a float valve on my mixing station and a float valve on my ATO for a tank I have in my garage. Even when both float valves are closed, every now and then (maybe a couple times and hour) I can hear the water pressure kick back on and then hear the pressure switch close again (my wife says it sounds like a cow mooing). I have checked multiple times for leaks and there are none. I put ball valves on both lines that I turned off and it still does it.

Is it normal for the system to never completely shut off unless I physically turn off the supply line? Do I need a new auto shut off valve on the system? Any other thoughts on what might cause this?

Not sure if it would cause the system to start producing but I've read of quite a few failures of auto shut off valves letting wasted water run because they fail to shut off completely. Just info I've gathered reading, my system doesn't run one because of the booster pump I use.

I had to replace the check valve in mine. I thought it was the auto shut off at first. Problem solved.

It’s attached to the ro membrane housing.

Mine does that too, but it shudders when it locks up. I just havent taken the time to fix it yet. I assume it is the auto shut off, but not sure.

Sounds like I'm going to be ordering a couple parts. I'll let you know which one fixes it.

So, it turns out that because my system has two RO filters, it also has two check valves. Unfortunately I only ordered one because I didn't know each filter would have one. So, I changed the auto shutoff unit and one of the check valves (around $20 with shipping). It is significantly better now but still bleeds off just not as often and not as loud. I'm going to order the second check valve and see if that fixes it the rest of the way.

I'm guessing it's not normal for it to run randomly and waste water. Both of my tanks are full, so it isn't adding any to either of them.
