I'm going to get a water filter and I wanted to know if it needed to be a rodi, because I was also seeing just RO filter and some of those were on sale for a lot cheaper, and I see people talking about both but I just wanted to know if I should get a rodi or if a ro was fine, thank you

RO with DI (RODI) is what most everyone uses for their reef tanks. Many times people will type "RO" when they really mean "RODI" 🙂

Although if you did find a really cheap RO system you can always add a DI add on canister now, later or never.
Like was said though yes we use rodi to get all the remaining gunk out of the water. In some case some use two di filters
