So yesterday I got a little impulsive and bought a clownfish (my son REALLY wanted to pick out a Nemo), a blood fire shrimp, a skunk shrimp, and a few hermit crabs. No snails yet as I don’t have much algae. Diatoms are present though.

Also, I purchased a few frags.. two zoas and a mushroom. I’m hoping they do okay in there.. I may have to pick up some calcium. Will test water in a day or so.

Just some updates.. added some new coral and a coral beauty. The mandarin passed away - not sure why as we kept the tank loaded with pods. My guess is my water isn’t perfect for it or just plain bad luck?

I also switched out my Current Orbit LED with a OceanRevive LED. It’s badically a Chinese BB at only 120w but what caught my attention was the fact it included mounting brackets to mount on the tank. What a HUGE difference this might makes! I am not kidding, about 10 minutes into the new light all my corals fluffed up and came out.. it was magnificent! The brackets keep the light 7” above water. The tank is about 11” deep between sand bed and water level.. 26.5” long. I am acclimating the reef to the new light so Ch1 blues are at 15% on for 9 hrs and Ch2 whites are at 2% on for 3 hrs. I will slowly increase duration first to 10 hrs Ch1 and 4 hrs Ch2 before increasing intensity. I cannot stress how much I LOVE this light!

Looks great. I am running the IM20 peninsula too. What are you doing for the middle chamber. I see your powerhead is mounted from the back panel. I just moved mind there but side glass mounted, as it would shoot into a rock in the middle. Jebao PP4 on level 1! Still cycling so the sand kicks up easy.

Thanks for the post! My middle chamber has an eshoppes skimmer. It works pretty well - I do have to keep the water level just right though. I wish I had an ATO. Good luck on your tank!
