Gidday, I have a BT Anenome that appears to be reaching or stretching upward.

This tank is a 9 gal flu al flex tank with a protein skimmer and AI 16 HD lamp. The lamp is 10.5 inches above the water line. The tank is 14" x 10" and 12 inches deep. These are the lamp settings:

The tank is 10 months old and does have several spots of purple Coraline algae growing.

Is the anenome stretch because of low light intensity and if so which spectrum needs to be raised? UV, violet, blues, white ? Any assistance would be appreciated.

I am not too good at reading the lamp settings and what not, so I cant really give much advise (if needed) on that. All I would say is that the anemone appears to be lacking light and flow.

Also, I think, just my opinion, 10 months is a bit too early for nems, might be fine. There are many articles about nems here on R2R that you can read. I suggest you read this. https://www.reef2reef.com/ams/anemones-and-why-you-should-wait.448/

I have 5 BTAs in my 125g and they have all moved from the spots that I thought they would like. I run my lights kind of high but some of them still stretch out, some don’t. If they’re unhappy they tend to move around a lot or will just shrivel up.

Do you have a par meter to see what your light is putting out at different depths? That really is the only way to tell, otherwise it’s throwing darts at a board blindfolded.

I do have one. I will check when I get home. Initially, I had 150 at the top and 75 at the bottom. 2 months ago, I changed a few settings increasing the percentages of the blues. I will check again.

The new par meter indicates 135 par at the surface, 100 par at the middle, and 50 par at the bottom

Nem would appreciate more light most likely, I think you could increase the settings a bit

Should I increase the white hue, blue hue, or combination of blues and whites. I read that the greens, reds and moon light are not needed.
Hmm🤔, I and my lfs usually keep nems under almost white light. Your lighting already seems okay, just needs to be more strong.I would increase both, but more to white.
