So today I purchased a pair of Clowns. I rushed them home and put them in my tank. I went up stairs and I went to my other tank and went to where I had three BTA’s. There were two rocks and one was on each, but there was one attached to both rocks and I did not notice it. I separated both rock and then I realized one bta was attached to both rocks and I think I prolly damaged its foot. How will I know if this happened?

If it doesn’t attach you will know it’s damaged. I had a new large bta go down my overflow into sump and couldn’t believe it ended up in Refugium section and is fine

Just leave him be and it will probably heal just fine. Monitor closely just in case though.

She reattached to the rock but doesn’t look happy. I think she will be fine

Consider that when BTA's split naturally or mechanically, the foot gets torn in half and heals just fine. It doesn't look too bad at all.

I did something similar to one of mine several weeks ago and thought for sure it wouldn't make it. I just left it alone and it was fine in a matter of days. Tougher than they look.
