Hello fellow reefers,

Just wondering if you can use nylon tights (pantyhose) as a media bag for RowaPhos and are they reef safe. Currently paying £4.99 for 2 media bags whereas I can get a pair of tights for 99p.

Thanks in advance

There is nothing in the nylons that you should worry about. The only concern is the media (RowaPhos) slipping thru the pores in the nylons or the pores becoming clogged with detritus and not letting water thru. They also make good covers for your powerheads

IME, new, non-dyed nylons are generally considered to be fish and reef safe. New is important because any residual soap or fabric softener is a problem. The micron level of nylons may vary but is usually comparable to most fine mesh media bags.
