I recently put a frogspawn frag into my tank. The frag grew rapidly and split into two heads, only for one to rapidly melt recently (pretty sure brown jelly).

The remaining head now deviates between looking great and being moderately withdrawn. Well today it was moderately withdrawn. While watching the tank, I saw the royal gramma nipping at it! Repeatedly. It'll come back and give it a good solid bite every 30 seconds or so.

I've found some threads on other forums about grammas nipping hammers and torches, but some of them were dismissed. Just adding my 2 cents that it definitely happens.

I initially placed the frogspawn pretty close to his cave, so I suspect it's a territorial thing.

I've now moved the frogspawn to the other (right) side of the tank... which is unfortunate as the left side of the tank I was planning a Euphyllia garden, not now!

Mine doesn’t nip any of my hammers, frog spawn or torches. Maybe it’s not being fed enough? They can be pigs! 😂

I mean I thought of it, but honestly he's the chonkiest fish in the tank. He's pretty beefy for a Gramma.

He is the *only* fish the Kole tang takes issue with though, so he doesn't get to feed quite as worry free as the rest. But I watch and he does always get his fair share of shrimp.
