Not looking for help, I'm bloody furious and just wanted to rant. A two year guarantee and it lasts two years and three months. Do they design them like that? Anyway, looks like the controller has failed; the lights all flash normally but the gyre does nothing - unless I unplug the lot and reconnect, then it works for about 10 seconds.
