Thought I was already in the private group. Maybe not. Do I get a super secret decoder ring?

So about a month ago I rescued a tiny kelp crab that was having a hard time with a molt. I am happy to say he/she is doing well and I think had at least one successive molt. Obviously gets along well with its tank mates.

Today in my temperate tank...

This guy has decided he is bored with the place he has been living for the last couple years... Searching for new digs...

Kisses...

Every time I think he has lived out his life, he pops up again. Going on three plus years for this inch long guy...

Awesome thread!
Do you run a chiller on this tank to keep it 63⁰ or do you like your house really cold? A temperate tank is my dream tank, always loved the tide pool ecosystem. Sadly, there's really no industry for temperate saltwater :(
Also I'm dying for more pics.

Thanks! Actually since this is California and we have single pane glass, no insulation and bad heaters, The apartment tends to run on the cooler side. That being said I do run an JBJ 1/15 chiller. I got a 1/10 chiller hoping it would be more efficient, but have not set it up yet.
There are some sources for temperate livestock, but yes it is difficult if you do not live next to the ocean. As for pics yes it has been a while...

So... in the news this week....
I sadly had to return Petunia the kelp crab back to the ocean. With this last molt she became very aggressive to her tank mates. I think because she had matured and wanted/needed to mate.
So I was slightly worried when I was going to re-release her. I had no reason, as soon as I took her out of the cooler and set her down in some kelp, she just instantly started eating... "This is awesome thanks!"
Here is a pic of her last molt compared to her first molt:

She was always hungry... maybe my Po4 will go down now...

Tide pool Sculpins I raised from fry. They are a cross between a dragon and a blenny :)
Interesting fact: Tide pool Sculpins never venture more than a few hundred yards from where they were born using a strong sense of smell to find there way home.
