Bought a used RSM 250, filled it with live rock, caribsea Fiji pink, put on a tunze ATO, decided to use the fluval canister filter as a media reactor. System has been running perfectly for a week now! Only problem I’ve had is high water temperature with all the pumps in the rear. I’m not forking out money for a chiller so any other ideas would be appreciated!

Normally I would say add a fan to the sump or display for some evaporation cooling, but it looks and sounds like you have a canopy and no sump. Can you easily open the canopy up some how?

Tank still looks great!

Sorry I haven’t had my notifications on ha ha I’m new, I don’t know what I’m doing. Well there are water fans on the back of the canopy, but I’ve never had a tank fluctuate temperature like this one. I’m thinking about removing the smaller circulation pump and hooking up the canister return to the loc-line nozzle. 1 less pump heating the water and more energy efficient too.

Hi. I pick one of these up Saturday. How did you end up fixing the heat issue? Any other tips for a new guy with older tech?
