Decided on my in-cabinet overhead lights for the 170 utility cabinet. This 12V DC LED strip is controllable with several colors and flashing.

After a lot of thought and searching I have decided not to go with the Triton method with this tank. I have decided to sell my Synergy Reef Systems TS-26 Triton sump and after emailing back and forth with Synergy, @mixer911 , I just paid for a SRS CL-26 sump modified to use a Klir filter rollermat. More on all this later.

This is my Synergy Triton sump I’ll be selling.

I have the 24V to 12V step down fan soldered and heat shrunk. I connected it to the EB832 and it works great. Now I need to mount it in the utility cabinet to keep the electronics cool.

Nice setup, thanks for sharing and taking the time.

Also with regards to the fan - I saw a video of someone doing this a while back and thought about doing something similar. Sort of forgot about that option until I passed by your thread.

@saf1 check out the video by @ReefSpy at post #158 of this thread. DIY video on how to do this and list of parts in video.

I’m interested in this too. My RSK 300 is a bit noisy. Noisiest item in tank and can hear with sump doors closed.

Seen a German YouTube vid were he attached airline hosing to the two entrance holes of the silencer which helped with the noise. Might give that a try.

How is the RSK 300 skimmer doing ? would you recommend it ? Also, did the custom silencer make much of a difference ?
@tenurepro and @WetElbow tank is taken down so haven't tried the silencer but it was made by @Butuz and he has one installed on his RSK-300. He has the sound data taken in decibels by a smart phone app see it on his build thread.

Thanks, @powers2001 yep, humming along quite well. @tenurepro I highly recommend the RSK300. I replaced Nyos 120. Day and night. Larger volume, larger skimmate cup, drain line, viewing window, neck cleaner. Very stable foam level. Can’t beat. If your stock air chamber makes excessive air sucking noise, pm me, I can 3d print out a new one for you that I designed. Significantly reduces noise.

Ok thanks! I’ll go ahead and get one... hopefully it will be quiet but good to know who to call if not !

@tenurepro I’ll sell you my RSK-300. Since my new sump will have more room for a skimmer I’m getting the DC skimmer I’ve wanted for a long time. I’ve never had the Red Sea completely out of the box. Bottom picture is the most I had it unboxed. Since you’re in Canada we would have to go through customs which I’ve never dealt with. PM me if interested.

I’m configuring another Marine Depot controller board. This is for a couple IceCap BBUs, a Wi-Fi power strip, and the router that will be connected to a BBU. It will go in the utility cabinet.

@mixer911 received my Synergy sump and Klir rollermat today. The sump was well packaged and I’m very impressed with the build quality of the sump. I’m saving the box for shipping the Synergy Triton sump when I sell it.
