I just got in a black friday order, and RTN is present on thee of five corals. Two of the three have some living tissue, but do I try to save them, or give them up for dead?

Thanks in advance.

I'd get a refund. The seller may not have either:

  1. Packaged them correctly, usually suspended from the top of the bag or mounted elsewhere.
  2. Allowed for enough healing before shipping the frag or piece.

RTN in bag = refund.

You can try to save them too.
The seller says the DOA policy only covers if I contact them within two hours of the box arriving, but like most folks, I have a job. I am not sure when the box arrived, but all was packed very well, and the temp seemed really good.

I am concerned about introducing something to the healthy specimens if I just add them in - the living tissue is so little, I almost think it is a waste of time, but I hate to not give it a fighting chance.

I guess my question should have been, "Can RTN jump from an infected specimen to a healthy one"....

I always frag and pray, sometimes miracles happen. If you don't frag, they will die almost certainly.
