My Oregon Tort is toast due to me not paying attention over the past month. My dKH got up to 15.6 and I slowly lowered it but yeah a few colonies have RTN. That said a few polyps still remain and seem to be okay. Is it worth holding out hope they will recover or just pull the colony because it is inevitable they will perish? My Green slimer among other SPS is doing okay. My dKH is back to normal at 8.5 and my Favia colonies are having a growth spurt after that unfortunate event.

I've had corals dead and covered with algae for 2 years that resurrected.

I personally had much better luck cutting Frags of healthy tissue, worse comes to worse if the original colony comes back, you can always just glue the frag close to it or pass it on to someone else

If it still has polyps it can come back. I would not toss it. Sometimes when I receive a new coral it will turn white overnight - except the polyps are still there although recessed. The algae does not take it over, it remains white. They always come back over a few weeks or even months
