I am going BB on my next reef tank and my original plan was to use Starboard. This stuff is expensive and I am wondering if a thin (1/16"-1/8") rubber mat would work instead. Home Depot has recycled rubber mats that would fit but I am concerned about leaching.

Anyone use recycled rubber mat for a BB? Issues?

Only thing I would worry about in them is the material used and possibly other chemicals used to make it possibly water repellent
