So my fish recently got ich and the treatment says not to use the skimmer of course so it isn’t removed, however with 8 fish in a 70 gallon that is mostly tightly covered to prevent evaporation i am worried about oxygen levels as it says the treatment can lead to reduced oxygen, i can set a schedule to briefly turn on the skimmer, however long should i do this for or do you think they will be ok, i have pretty decent surface movement and also lots of falling water in the sump.

The best thing to do is keep the skimmer running full blast, but either allow the skimnate to flow back into the tank, or drop the level in the riser so no foam is collected.

Very true, i will do that once i clean out my skimmer cup
