Water changes weekly lol. Also test and clean my equipment often after 9 years. Havnt got burnt out by it yet. Definitely very important as well.

Yes absolutely. I bought a bunch of ai blades I never wound up using.

The blanket of light is definitely one of the most important things to be doing. Unless they completely remove t5s, I will most likely use them on every build i have.

I'm 100% with you on that thought so I actually just bought a 36 " ATI 6 bulb Sunpower and 2 ReefBrite XHOs. Back when I had a 240 gal tank I was using 2 ATI Powermodules. I'm really sorry they stopped making those because to me they were the perfect combo.

I'm kinda surprised how T5s are disappearing from the discussion amongst new reefers. I did recently watch a BRS YouTube video where they said they're not selling a lot of T5 fixtures, but bulb sales remain strong. I guess that means a bunch of old time reefers are still using T5s :)

How do you like the ATI Straton Pro in the shop? In comparison to Radions, which I think poto also has in the shop.

Absolutely incredible lights. All for coverage, growth and color. Definitely checks all the proper marks for growing coral, especially so in a lagoon style system where esthetics mean a heck of alot.

Radions Definitely provide as well. Just a bit more focused in the area where the light is under. One can make up with the use of other types of lighting.

The only downside to the ati lights is the over the tank photography. They make it nearly impossible both to view from top down and any sort of camera content.

Downside to radions is the occasional program going wacky which is indeed deadly. And the need to use mutiple units to get coverage, which can be addressed using supplemental lighting.

If I had to choose, in my circumstances, the radions. The programming is up my Ally in how i do things so. But the ATIs are absolutely wonderful lights.

I actually have 8-bulb T5 ATI now with one XHO bar. Just looking to make the switch to full LED. I can’t see the video on my phone now, but I’ve seen lots of pics and videos on your tank. Amazing.

I can’t see this one either, right now. I’ll watch it on my computer when I get home. I’m really considering the Stratons instead of Radion Blue with a bar to supplement.

May I ask - what are you mounting those frags on that stick way up (the long skinny stick-looking pedestals).

Cut acrylic rods. 1/4 1/2 inch rods. Tons of good benefits. Definitely the top of that list is the lack of surface area for algae growth. Can also peg the coral out Into the water column to get some flow around it. Definitely a great idea when your tank is limited on space.

Still the good ol blue plus. Coral plus and purple plus bulbs!
